Malbec-Crios de Susana Balbo
After 22 years of winemaking, Susana Balbo has a strong sense of what she wants from her wines. From every harvest, she creates the grandest possible wines under her Susana Balbo label. To achieve this, she makes a rigorous selection of the finest barrels prior to making her final blends, dividing them into the parents (reserve level wines) and offspring or "crios".
Wines under her Crios label display ripe fruit flavors, excellent balance and concentration, and are meant to be enjoyed in their vibrant youth.
Cabernet Franc Carmenere-(Oops)
This spicy wine is deep red in color with purple tones and some orange hues. Intense, rich chocolate and coffee bean aromas introduce a mouth-filling palate with mineral notes, pepper, dry plum and menthol well-balanced with oak.
In the Vineyard
The fruit is 100% Valle Central, sourced from four different vineyards in the three distinctive regions of Maule, Curicó, and Colchagua. 2006, the second excellent vintage in a row, was cooler than normal during February and March.

Merlot Cakebread Cellars
The 2006 Cakebread Merlot impressed us right off the bat with pretty black cherry and dark plum aromas that gain complexity from subtle earth, hazelnut, black tea, cocoa and toasty oak tones. This fine wine offers black cherry and plum balanced by bright acidity. A long elegant finish with black tea spice tones. Delicious now, this cool-vintage Merlot will blossom further with another 2-3 years of bottle age.
Malbec Paul Hobbs Mendoza Argentina
From Mendoza Argentina, Respected wine maker Paul Hobbs brings this fine new Malbec. 91% malbec, 6% cabernet sauvignon, 3% syrah.
This powerful, firmly structured malbec is black/fuchsia in color and perfumed with wild raspberry and bittersweet cocoa. The palate unfolds in velvety layers of plum, currant and anise. Notes of white pepper and minerals accompany fine-grained tannins on a long, memorable finish. This is a limited production wine and only available for a short time.
